Short Bio

I create art to accompany written works rooted in authenticity, connection, emotions, and the human experience.

Statement

As a daughter of two artists, art has always played a central role in my world. As much as I tried to fight this genetic “curse” in my earlier years, I found myself drawn to the creative arts time and time again, particularly when experiencing some type of internal battle or heightened emotions. It became apparent to me at an early age that the act of creating art (or the art of expression) is simply a projection of one’s state of mind, regardless of how subconscious this intention might be.

The more life I experience, the more I find that while there are many variations of scenarios which can occur to elicit emotion, there are only a given number of what I call, "core emotions," to be felt as a human. My approach to art is to capture the essence of these core emotions (primarily the uncomfortable, stigmatized ones) by marbleizing them as they occur and channeling them into creative expression. The expression could range anywhere from a form of writing to 2D art, or both, all revolving around this central theme, aiming to de-stigmatize uncomfortable core emotions by shedding light on their ubiquity. I encourage others to view my artworks each as an “Instance” in the journey of a human’s evolution, and follow along the incremental progression of skill and mindset.
